I'm glad that a lot of you found the Teddy Girl post interesting. Krista from Sunny Side Up! found the original Ken Russell essay from 1955 on the Teddy Girls, as well as made her own post on it that brings out a few more parts of their style. The UK Times also wrote an article on the photo essay & culture in 2006 called "When the Girls Came Out." If you are interested in reading about their counterparts, Teddy Boys, and how the Teddy style has evolved throughout the years (revivals), The Fedora Lounge has a thread on it. The last page is focused on the Teddy Girls specifically. That's all the extra info I can find on it now. I know that a few months after I did my original post on Teddy Girls BUST magazine did a fashion article on their style. I recycled that issue with the rest of my magazine when I moved, but those who still have your back issues, its the Halloween one from 2006.
