As promised, here are my thoughts on the first of the Persephone Books I got, Miss Buncle's Book. I went through this book in a matter of days - I absolutely loved it! It was the perfect thing to keep me entertained while I fought off my terrible cold. The characters are interesting and while some parts of the plot are predictable, I loved reading how the characters got there. I highly recommend this book - it is a light, enjoyable read. As soon as I finished it I packed it up and sent it off to my grandma because I knew she would love it. As soon as she sends it back, I'm planning on rereading it. I had the biggest smile on my face while I read it and would love to go through the story all over again!
There is a sequel to the book, Miss Buncle Married, but it is out of print. I am probably going to ILL it from an Illinois library soon. I'll let you know what I think of that story when I get it into my hands.
As for the other Persephone books I ordered - I'm almost done with all of them. I think I have problem guys...I'm addicted. I've already written out a list of all the books from the line that I am interested in and will be placing another order soon. When summer comes, I'm definitely going to sign up for the book subscription. I need a steady supply of these wonderful literary gems!
For those who are as addicted to Persephone books as I, or want to get into this line, The B Files is hosting a Persephone Reading Week from may 3rd through 9th.
