I adore vintage magazine covers, mainly because they show such great illustrations that show vivid creativity. I found some American Girl covers I thought you all would enjoy viewing.
The illustration above is a treasure trove of women's "sport" outfits. I especially love the beach pajama set (with the lady holding the beach ball) and the golf outfit. Those saddles with bobby socks...sigh. I've taken to wearing my saddles everyday and I just love the way it pulls my outfits together. Even when I'm just wearing jeans and a shirt, the saddles just pick the whole outfit up from schlub to put-together.
I am a sucker for anything involving archery. The grannies are thinking of having one GC meeting where we learn to do archery, but we aren't sure if it is a very grandma thing. We may just do it on the side as nothing to do with GC, but we may not have time with all our other plans.
I've been doing a whole mess of reading lately, so I was particularly attracted to this enchanting cover. Oh, the little kitty in the corner, and...is that a needle point cushion thrown to the side? I've been playing with the idea of making myself a needlepoint or embroidered pillow cover for a while now. I just need to find some time to do all those project ideas that are piling up!
Probably my favorite American Girl cover, so far, is one I used a while ago for this post. The steamer trunk, the girl's lovely outfit, and her frozen reading a book, completely forgetting all her other responsibilities. I love the whole composition. Any vintage covers that you are particularly found of?

I love these covers. I think I'm going through a 1930s phase, having recently watched Cracks and Glorious 39. I really REALLY want to have my hair in short curls as above, but have NO idea where to start!

Are these covers in your own personal collection? I've just been searching for the magazine on-line and I'm not turning up much. The covers are gorgeous! I think my favorite is the one with the steamer trunk, too.

This is one of my favorite vintage magazines. I have a whole bound year of them from the 1930s.
