The above and below intertitles are from the 1927 version of Chicago, of which I have yet to read the actual play OR even watch any of the movie versions.

"Hula Lou" is allegedly the song that the murderess Beulah Annan played over and over again after she killed her lover. Who knows if that is true or a fabrication of the newspapers of the day.
