My gosh, I just read one earlier today! I'm behind on my blogroll and so on the same day I read your request and then this tutorial on the very same subject from a couple of weeks ago on Evil Dressmaker:

It's such a good idea. I too am trying to find ways to extend my wardrobe within my wardrobe.

Kathy Zadrozny

Those are some really great collar ideas/tutorials she has! Thanks for linking to that post. Im really loving the fake fur one with this windy weather weve been having lately.

I've been really smitten with detachable collars lately myself--I think it has to do with my shrunken winter wardrobe! I'm actually planning on posting a little how-to tomorrow on using the collar pattern I posted last fall (for a fur collar) to make a plain fabric collar. ;)

Molly

I love your collar! its so feminine! I'm a huge sucker for detachable collars, it just makes so much sense; both practical and pretty. They knew what they were back then, particularly if you want to pair a white collar with a dark dress and keep both the original colour after washing.

I make and sell collars on etsy at mollymadewithlove.etsy.com - they're quite plain, but embroidered, take a peek, perhaps you'll find some inspiration,

Casey at Elegant musings also just put up a darling tutorial :)
