I have been a terrible pen pal lately. Between getting ready for Renegade, working on new projects, being sick, and returning to my day job I have found a myriad of excuses as to why I don't have time to write. They are just excuses though, as writing a quick letter takes no more than 10 mins. My pen pals, though, have been very awesome and understanding. I'll stress the awesome part though, because they have been sending some lovely things my way lately.
Firstly, Kimberly gave me a print of a poster she made at the recent Rar Rar Press class she attended. (Donovan has done a class with Rar Rar too and they both had loads of fun.) Cesar
lent gave me a book he just finished, Americans in Paris, which has been on my Goodreads list for a while now. He also included an elegant looking fountain pen. If that wasn't enough, Ferko, who works for Appleton Coated (and donates paper to the LWA for our letter writing socials), sent us a spiffy work apron from the Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum. Donovan and I are trying to plot a day that we can run away to Wisconsin to visit the museum. Hopefully it shall be very soon.
I'm always amazed at the people a have been connected with just through letters. People I would have never known if it wasn't for our correspondence, or even their correspondence with someone else. This weekend I must return the favor and sit down with a beer and some letter writing.
