One of the things that has been keeping me so busy lately is a collaborative project I've been doing with Carolee Wheeler of Good Mail Day. We have one of the four new LWA/Carolee projects up on the Letter Writers Alliance now, which is Moth Mail. We had so much fun putting together this weird fantasy postage set.
Each set has six handmade envelopes, twelve postage stamps, one cancellation stamp, an origami Stellate Moth, and the field notes of Dr. Shoggoth on the elusive Stellate Moth. Donovan drew all the illustrations for the field notes and that peice of fiction alone is quite a work of art. It reminds me a bit of a page from Indiana Jones' journal.
I think the cancellation stamp is my favorite part of the set. Not only can it cancel two stamps at once, but it also turns plain envelopes into something swell.
I hope you all have as much fun using these mail sets as we did creating them. We have more of these fantasy sets up our sleeves as well as an odd postal adventure coming up in the new year. I can't wait to show you all the amazing projects we've been working on this year.
