My friend Carolee was very brave and came to visit Donovan & I in Chicago in the middle of January. Luckily, it wasn't too cold, so we were able to wander around a good bit. One of the things we did was stop over at Quimby's, which I haven't been to in years.

We spent a good chunk of time exploring the shelves and making funny faces in their photo booth. I picked up two issues of Remedy, which I have been wanting to check out for a while. I also picked-up a Prince zine that talks about his history (very hard to find info on him as he protects his identity quite well) that Carolee got last year and loved. I also got myself a copy of Marissa's Miss Sequential #3, which is an oldie, but goody.
I bought The one volume of Thoreau's The Journal (ISBN 1590174402) from another bookstore, but included it in the photo because it is a tome I will be happily reading through slowly. I've been getting in a few pages over breakfast before my day job. It has been putting me in a good and sometime contemplative mood for the rest of the day. Any good books/zines/journals you've purchase recently?

I just received Yoko Ono's GRAPEFRUIT in the mail - thanks for the recommendation! For a real mind bender try SUM by David Eagleman.
