This is a very delayed report and I apologize for not posting about it sooner. The awesome Lucy Knisley did a book signing at the awesome Challengers Comics & Conversation for her new book Relish: My Life in the Kitchen.
Lucy was so freaking nice and approachable, it made the whole event casual and awesome at the same time. Her book is also a very good read. Not only did I enjoy her story telling and drawing, Relish kicked me out of my cooking funk and got me back into the kitchen. After months of being "BAH!" about making any food item for fun, Lucy's book inspired me to whip-up a huge batch of cookies and share with my friends. I used the recipe that she included in the book (yes, she has recipes between chapters in the book!) and have been using her "secret weapon" on all cookies I've been baking since then. Super yum.
Too keep this food train going, next post I'll be sharing my scalloped potato recipe with you all. It is a bit different from other recipes, in that it is on the dryer side and not a bunch of sliced potatoes in a pool of sauce.
