Kimberly recently posted her Summer Manifesto; goals of things she wants to do this summer. I thought that this (along with her awesome summer minibook) was a great idea and have decided to follow suit. So here is what I would like to accomplish during summer:
- Make 'smores over an open fire
I have never ever done this. This should be rectified.
I've been considering going back to swimming laps, but I haven't been in a pool in...oh 10 years. I may not like the idea of lap swimming once I go back to the pool, but the main thing is getting into that darn pool!
- Make a blanc mange
I've been wanting to make this for years now. It's about time.
- Go on a walkabout once a week (12 weeks = 12 explorations)
Walkabout being defined as a walk to a new place, in my area or otherwise, for more than a 30 mins. A trip with no purpose/errand in mind
- Do two hikes or 1 hike and 1 camping trip
This is a bit of a cheat as I know I'll go for a hike when in San Francisco this summer. Hence why I added the second hike or camping item
- Spend more non-shop time with Donovan
When you run a shop with your best friend, it is hard to separate yourself from it and not talk about it all the time. We've been doing better on having non-shop talk days, but I want to be more mindful of just enjoying Donovan for the awesome lady she is.
- Meditate daily
At the risk of sounding all crunchy granola, I just got into meditating and it has been helping me be more patient. I haven't been good on continuing to do it though.
That's what I got for this summer. I would add read X books or respond to letters more punctually, but since I can't really knit right now, I think those two activities are gimmies.
What about you, do you have any summer goals or excursions you'd like to do?
