The 2010 Love stamp features the image of a white woven cart filled with deep and light purple pansies and green foliage. The floral design is a detail from a watercolor created by the late Dorothy Maienschein, an employee of Hallmark Cards, Inc. Introduced as a Mother’s Day card in 1939, Hallmark reissued the design as a friendship card in 1941. Since Hallmark began tracking sales in 1942, almost 30 million cards with this pansy cart design have been purchased, more than any card in history.

Oh, okay, wow, um, gee. I hate this stamp a whole lot. Last year's Love issue was so wonderful. What the heck? Where did they go wrong? Did no one stop to think that maybe this is the best selling Hallmark card ever because it's complete innocuous and generic and BORING!? Bah to this stamp. I'll probably still buy some. I can see use for totally generic stamps that aren't flags, but only barely. If you want them, they went on sale yesterday, April 22, 2010.
More importantly, we have a winner of Yours Ever. The winner is commentor # 14: Krissy! Thanks everyone. {Winner chosen by Random.Org}

hahahaha...i had to laugh at your reaction. and the fact that i've RECEIVED this card from my grandma :)

Oh, I LOVE this stamp. Maybe it's my love of purple, but I like this much more than the Kings and Queens version at the link. Never seen a pansy card though.

i love purple but i hate this stamp. i agree it looks so generic, and maybe it's mean to say this but i've always hated pansies. i don't know why but i've always thought they were ugly.

I don't love this stamp but it will work so well with the Pet Adoption postage coming out next week. I planned to use a 10¢ clock + this Love + one of the pet stamps and leave space between the clock and the Love to write the number 2 ... Time to love pets ... on all my outgoing PostCrossing.com postcards. The Celebrate stamp was going to be my choice instead of Love but it is not in production anymore. I loved that stamp.

I really like the stamp! I agree that last year's Love stamps were better, though. From the USPS perspective (I often speak to the window clerks about the stamps), stamps with flowers are huge sellers. I'd much rather get a letter with the purple pansies than those hideous Forever stamps!

It's the basket that ruins it. Uggo!

Okay, so I wasn't very excited about this release, but... I was at the PO today and asked to see them. And I was so surprised! I thought the colors were MUCH prettier in person. Quite lovely, actually! So promptly bought two sheets to save for rainy days.

I'm not a fan, either.
And, I miss the Celebrate stamps. Sigh.
