There's a fantastic blog site called Scouting New York where a film scout posts his/her wanderings in the out-of-the-way, oft-overlooked and under-appreciated places in New York City. We're extremely lucky that they chose to share some their findings with us. Just recently, the Scout visited the James A. Farley Post Office at 33rd Street & 8th Ave.
There are dozens of photographs on the Scouting New York site. This building is huge and will eventually be renovated into a train station. It's amazing to see how much history is left in a mostly empty building.
