I'm not very familiar with the site The Rumpus, but I got an email tip from Member Kim L. about a new service they are starting where they mail you letters. For $5 a month, you'll receive almost weekly letters from known artists and authors such as Dave Eggers, Marc Maron, Stephen Elliott, Janet Fitch, Nick Flynn, Margaret Cho, Cheryl Strayed, Wendy MacNaughton, Emily Gould, Tao Lin, and Jonathan Ames. They want you to "Think of it as the letters you used to get from your creative friends, before this whole internet/email thing."
If you're looking to get more mail, that's one way to do it. If anyone does subscribe, I'd love to have you review the service for the blog.

I've been thinking about subscribing... I get a reasonable amount of awesome mail (thanks to the LWA and the connections I've made here) but I always want MOAR! Plus, I like the idea of getting really short stories from favorite authors in the mail... If I do sign up, I'll keep you posted.

Hi LWA, I just wanted to let you know that I've blogged about letter writing today at http://christianwritersdownunder.blogspot.com/ and included a link to your blog/site.
Love letter writing and receiving. Does the LWA have many international members?
Penny.

Thanks Penny! I'd say about 15% of our members are non-U.S. based.

I signed up for the Rumpus letters program! It's a month-to-month subscription to the service, so you can cancel anytime...so why not give it a shot!
