My fave pencil (at the moment) is my Lamy Safari Mechanical pencil. I love their pens and this pencil hasn't disappointed! If we are talking traditional wooden barrel style, then Staedler Mars Lumograph pencils in 4B always win.

I have a really nice Tombow pencil that I'm hesitating to use up because I don't know where I got it originally and can't find a replacement for yet!

This is tough to choose. Today: Staedtler Wopex HB :)

My favorite has to be the tried and true Ticonderoga #2. Just the smell of a new one takes me back to grade school.

I have to agree with Carmen. There is nothing quite like a freshly sharpened Ticonderoga #2.

My favorite pencil is a Pentel Twist-Erase III in .9

I love The Museum of Useful Thing's Palomino Blackwing pencil. Nice grip, good eraser!

My favorite pencil is the Koh-I-Noor Blue Star Classic. I love the red and blue tips.

I love the APS-280E, from Ohto. It's mechanical, but wooden! :)

My favorite pencil is an eight-sided black "Autopoint" mechanical pencil from ~ the 1940s or 1950s. It has a nice grip and thick lead that doesn't break every time its used.

Jane B.

I love carpenter pencils. They are so quirky and super useful. The flat, octagonal style that keeps the pencil from rolling off the table (or the roof!) is just genius.

For a traditional pencil, I love the Blacking. For a mechanical pencil, the Kuru Toga can't be beat!

Lisa M

My favorite pencil(s) are: the Musgrave HB with a natural finish and their indelible pencils in red, blue and green for when I'm feeling colorful. Given my last name is Musgrave, the added bonus is that they are personalized too.

My Cross pencil (Blue & Silver) is my favorite.

Bethany Lee aka poeticpaper

My favorite pencil that I rarely use for fear of using it up is a pencil that I got at Pittsburgh's Carnegie Museum of Science & Natural History during a high school field trip (way back when). It's a dark blue #2 pencil with gold ankhs all over it. Love it!

I dig Product Superior's pencils & the California Republic Palomino.

I love any 2HB pencils, but I love cute pencils, especially from Sanrio and Korean mechanical pencils :-)

This pencil club is a GREAT idea <3 thanks for sharing, Letter Writers Alliance :-)

I just got a pencil that has a paintbrush on the other end! Definitely my favourite at this very moment.

Leah Sawkins

I generally don't use pencils, but my favourite pencil right now is an I heart Texas pencil a friend sent me :O)

Joan Clarke

I love the Alvin Drafting Mechanical Pencil. An old stand-by favorite: Turquoise HB's.

Nothing can equal the smell of the old number 2 yellow pencils we used in school. Just the smell takes me back to shopping for a new pencil case & lunch pail every year.

I don't really use pencils all that much, but every time I go to my local library book sale, the volunteers there love giving out pencils. I always take one from them, and it makes me smile because it gives them such joy to hand them out!

I just finished a pencil drawing! It's going to someone who needs it. Oh, Serendipity, you awesome thing! :) I drew with a Palomino Blackwing. It marks like buttah! :)

I like pencils with fun designs on them. I have a orange pencil with tiger-striping on it which is my current fav. I also stumbled upon a white pencil (tucked away in a box) that has a nice curlicue design at the top (the ones where the pencil is twisted for uniqueness). I haven't sharpened that one yet... I'm saving it (for what, I'm not quite sure!)
