Slavery still exists in America. Many modern slaves are brought here as children or young women who perform the duties of nannies, house slaves, etc.. When the slavers are arrested their indignation is mind boggling. We see such news stories but never learn what happens to those children after they are freed. Too often their parents sell them to settle debts or for much needed income.

Sex slaves are in the news almost as often as weather reports. Let us keep slavery as an ongoing issue of topic. There are "foreigners" who bring their barbaric beliefs, customs, and slaves with them when they come to America. Houston is a major hub for such activities.

Few are willing to admit the truth, so thanks for saying it for them here, "We are left dealing with slavery's lasting impact on our culture. It is up to us to change these things . . ." Not with one letter at a time. We must discuss the horrors of the past in order to bring healing to the present. You are women of vision. Bring everyone to the round table--especially women. Women bring life.

Thank you.

Sincerely sincere.
