It Happened One Night is one of my all time favorites. ;) I just love those sorts of witty, mad-cap comedies!

Haha, I guess ladylike behavior is no substitute for pride in a job well done :-)

If it makes you feel better, I STILL haven't seen this movie. This is just the kick in the pants I need!

I haven't seen it either, I've always known about it, just haven't ever gotten around to seeing it.

such a great movie! and i'm with you on not caring too much for gable. he just seemed like an ass most of the time, but he's good in this film. :) and that is hilarious about colbert not wanting to lift her skirt up!

I'm glad you liked it, it's definitely one of my all-time favorite movies. But I have to disagree with you about Clark Gable. I like that he is so hard-headed. It makes it so much funnier when he goes up against someone like Claudette Colbert who is equally as stubborn!

Also, fun fact Bugs Bunny was loosely based on Peter Warne. Remember the hitchhiking scene where he is eating a carrot?

Felicia - I love Gable in this movie for sure, I was just never a fan of him
prior to seeing this. I think it has to do something with so many women
fawning over him. I prefer the underdog. Or maybe I'm just crazy! Everyone
has their own old hollywood preferences. ;)

i can't believe i hadn't seen it sooner! it's so daring for its time! colbert is darling! i actually haven't seen Gone With the Wind (tsk tsk) or any other of Gable's films before this one... but this one has made a fan of me... the male characters in a lot of classic romances just make me swoon, lol. love, love, love this film :)
