The book-nerd in me is super excited about this new stamp of Edgar Allen Poe, designed by Carl T. Herrman (Carlsbad, California). Here is the stamp descriptor from the USPS website:
"In 2009, the U.S. Postal Service® commemorates the
200th anniversary of the birth of Edgar Allan Poe, one of America’s
most extraordinary poets and fiction writers. For more than a century
and a half, Poe and his works have been praised by admirers around the
world."
Buy it at your local post office or online.
Hot Damn! That is one sexy, gothic stamp!

Just spent way too much time seeking out appropriate postcards for the Poe postage. My boyfriend is having fits that I'm over here getting excited about ravens.... we live in Pittsburgh... the Steelers and Baltimore Ravens play tomorrow for a spot in the Super Bowl.

I purchased about 8 sheets of these stamps the day they came out (completely by chance, actually.. I didn't know they'd come out yet...) They are amazing! I live in Baltimore, so it's a pretty big deal down here ^.^
