LWA member, Missive Maven, was very kind to point out to us that the international letter rates in the sidebar were woefully out of date. We are very sorry to not update these rates with the recent postage change. These rates are now correct in the sidebar, but I also wanted to post them here. They are as follows...
First class, 1 oz letter
1 ounce: 44¢
First class, 1 oz letter
1 ounce: 44¢
2 ounces: 61¢
3 ounces: 78¢
3.5 ounces: 95¢

Postcards are now $.28

Thanks for pointing that out! I updated the postcard price in the sidebar, but not for this post. That's what I get for writing this late at night.
Thanks!
Kathy

The truth of the matter is that I use your website as a cheat-sheet! I can never seem to remember what the first-class letter rate is for Canada, and it's faster just to come here to the beloved LWA site than to do the clunky bit of "calculate postage" at the USPS website.
Thanks for the update!

I noticed that recently too. As the recipient of international letters until a few days ago I didn't think to let you know about it. Glad it's all fixed up!

What about those "Forever" stamps? Can I maila 1 oz letter to, say, Scotland with a forever stamp, or does it have to be one with a monetary marker on it?

Forever stamps are good for the 1st oz of a 1st class mail letter; therefore, the are not valid for international mailing. It's the equivalent of a $0.44 stamp and you need more than that for the 1st oz internationally.
