Intrepid L.W.A. member Erin has put out a call for mail artists to participate in decorating a shop front as a part of the First Thursdays program in New Zealand. They are using the opportunity to launch a monthly letter-writing club {currently scheduled for the 3rd thursday of the month} and have a gallery show of mail art.
If you'd like to participate, the theme is "Alphabets" in any and all interpretations and mailed media. The works will be exhibited in June and are due by the 31st of May. All artists will be credited, and the art will not be returned.
Send your alphabetic entries to: Alphabet City / P O Box 7754 / Wellesley Street / Auckland /
New Zealand /
Thanks for posting :D Just to clarify, the show will not be in a shop (we were hopint to get it, but the space was just rented), but will now be in a pop-up gallery in an old arcade on K' Road.

Wow, what a find this blog is! I am a somewhat new collector of vintage stationery, but my collection is fast building. Question - can anyone suggest where I might find some nice airmail paper and envelopes? It doesn't even have to be vintage. I just really love the look.

Hi Stephanie. There are lots of ways to find it, but I recommend searching on Etsy, Ebay and the L.W.A. members-only shop.
