I couldn't bring myself to draw up a plain ol' chart for these new rules. Instead, I had a bit of fun with the highlights of the new rates in effect starting yesterday, but there was no mail yesterday; so starting today. It is Creative Commons licensed which means you are free to share and repost with accreditation, just no selling and claiming it's yours, deal?
I received a sheet from my PO that had all of the new increases. Regarding 1st class letters, there is the additional 21 cents for each ounce over one, but then at 3.5 ounces, there is an additional 21 cents required. Is this something new? Have they always started charging additional postage at 3.5 oz?

Awesome graphic! I love the little envelope with wings line drawing, too. :)

Theyve always rounded-up; so yes, 3.5 is essentially 4 oz in the eyes of the U.S.P.S.

But this is much cuter.

Yes, 3.5 rounds up to 4. Its 21 cents for each additional ounce or that is how I have always understood it.

Love the graphic! I was going to put it at the postal meter at work but we learned today that business owners with meter machines get a 1¢ discount. First time ever that has happened. I have been pushing to get rid of the machine and use real stamps but I'm going to have to give up on that battle now.

Ah! I didn't notice the digital one! I will color it in and replace the ugly scrawled note another co-worker stuck on the meter.

Thanks a bunch! I appreciate the loveliness of the drawing, which makes the postage hike a bit easier to deal with!
