Amid much pink spectacle, the U.S.P.S. released its love stamp for 2014 on Tuesday. Its design is supposed to kindle ideas about crafting and the DIY culture, mimcking a cut paper design. The designers claim that it takes its inspiration from liebesbriefe — ornately cut and painted love letters that are a form ofscherenschnitte, a German papercutting tradition. The official website wants to be clear that this is not merely a Valentine's stamp, oh no. They intend for you to send the love year-round. You can read all about it on the USPSstamps site.
Le sigh. Honestly, I'd like it a lot more if it weren't so very, very pink. I have always hated pink with the exception of flourescent pink because flourescent colors are amazing. I think I'll keep using the Sealed With Love stamps from last year. After all, they are Forever stamps.
P.S. Speaking of Forever stamps, here's a reminder that postage prices increase on Monday!
I'm not a huge fan of pink, but I do like the stylized design.

I agree that these are awfully pink. I love the hand-carved looking design, though. So I did buy some.
