Okay, so on Tuesday, they released another flag stamp. Whatever. It's got a black background and fireworks, which is kinda cool, I guess. It's a flag stamp. I really did like the "Flag for All Seasons" release, but there's only so much you can do with the flag stamp. Maybe a full-bleed version could be nice, or some sort of die-cut... Anyways, what's exciting is not the flag stamp. What's exciting are the stamps that were released on Monday: Ferns.
I love these. I'm so happy they aren't flowers! I'm so excited to use them. I'm going to order some right now! AAARRRRRRGGGGHHHH! These are only being issued in the giganto-roll currently. I'll have to apply more patience. Hopefully, like the Weathervanes and Kalidescope Flowers, they will release them in smaller numbers. **Update** You can buy them in more reasonable quantities now! More information on Ferns and the Star-Spangled Banner stamp are available at U.S.P.S. Stamps.
I've always wanted to know why they release some stamps only in the "giganto-roll" (like those snowflake stamps). Hopefully, they will decide to issue these for the rest of us.

The snowflakes were even more rarified. They are only for Pre-sorted First Class which is a whole other type of mail, mostly used by big businesses. There was no hope we could ever use them. *cries*

Doh! I totally dislike when they do the large rolls only, like the Quill one a while back. I did score some kaleidoscope ones when they were available. LOVE, love. these ferns!

I just looked at the USPS store, and they sell strips of 10 stamps and 25 stamps. Hope that helps.

Neat! I hope they're as good in print as they appear in that image.
