*If you are in the U.K. that is. I don't know what consortium makes decisions as to what week it is that we celebrate stationery. According to the Internet, however, that week is this week! I celebrate stationery everyday, but I can't offer you a trip to Paris if you send me a postcard by the 5th of this month. They can though (if you're a resident of the U.K.). It mostly seems a marketing ploy, but there's some decent info on their blog. I suppose I can take the promotional junk mail as long as it's championing "real" mail. Plus, they do spell "stationery" correctly throughout the site. That goes a long way with me.
P.S. And yes, April is National Letter Writing Month. Tell you all I know on Friday!
I've found out some new retailers and blogs through this (via twitter) and some retailers are offering free stuff and competitions. Some shops are holding events through the week to mark this as well.
All of this not obvious unless you engage with it on twitter or other places...I don't think the site itself gives much idea what is going on.
