I do not know much about basketball, so I can't conduct an educated conversation about these stamps. I do enjoy that these are a two design release. Each design showing Wilt in the team uniform that he won an NBA Championship with: Philadelphia 76ers and the Los Angeles Lakers. I also really love that this are long vertical stamps. I've been enjoying how the 2014 stamp releases have really been playing around with layout, size, and orientation. Sports fan or not, I think this layout and color scheme will look great on some mail art!
Ooh, I hope these are long as they look. I'm headed down to the PO today to see if these are as differently shaped as I want them to be. I concur on the USPS doing a good job this year. I have my fingers crossed for more first class round stamps in 2015.

You know you're a history nut when you see "Chamberlain" the title of this post and your mind jumps to pre-WWII British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, and are like "Why are we releasing a stamp for him?" Haha!
These will be great for men, which can sometimes be hard to find stamps for...what with all the flowers!

I'm not a basketball fan either but I do know that Wilt once scored 100pts in a game all by himself. He was a force of nature when he came into the league. I too like the different sizes and shapes in postage this year. I just picked up a sheet of global 1oz first class stamps and they're round - cool!
