Just your friendly reminder that the new stamp rates are now in effect. This is only the third time in the history of the U.S.P.S. that mailing rates have decreased in price. Turns out that the hike up to .49cents was for an "Emergency Fuel Surcharge" and was only intended to be temporary. While the U.S.P.S. did argue to keep the rate, courts decided it was illegal since that original jump was above the mandated percentage increase allowed by law.
First Class letters --- .47cents
Additional oz. --- .21cents
International First Class letters --- $1.15
Postcards --- .34cents
I love this doodle

Thanks for the important information. Please also update your Letter Rates section in the blog's right margin (is it considered a sidebar?). I rely on your Letter Rates posting; it's so much easier than using the USPS website for my straightforward postal rate questions.

Yes, I'm with Elizabeth. Thanks for updating the sidebar. I too come here before the USPS site.

I love the graphic...and thanks for the info. With the forever stamps, sometimes it's hard to know what they are worth.
