Caroline Weaver, proprietress of the eponymous C.W. Pencil Enterprise in New York, recently posted a great round up of her favorite places to procure stationery when she's abroad in London. When I travel, I am always looking for stationery stores, specifically family-owned stores. You never know what gems are lurking in a corner. There's so much old Dennison stock out there and it is my very favorite. Antique stores like to mark it up, but if you find it in a stationery store where it has probably been on the shelf for 50 years, it tends to be priced more affordably.
Have you found any good stores to share? I'm going to Maine in November and Mama needs more mail art supplies! Additionally, I'm going to start putting together a list of my favorites here in Chicago. Let's all go shopping!
Oh, what a nice list! I look forward to exploring some of these on my next London visit.

Bookmarking these lists! I also love: Jules Besch in Truro, MA; Melodies graphiques in Paris; Flax Art and Design in San Francisco/Oakland.

One more: Eslite in Taipei. An incredible collection, including local and Japanese makers and a huge range of international products.

The Paper Seahorse in Tampa, FL is wonderful! The proprietress, Tona, is a LWA member as well. She has all sorts of fun stuff there and they have classes too.
