Celebrate World Handwriting Day! It's every January 23rd and guess what? There's a reason that it is! How great! One of these days that seems arbitrary has some actual meaning behind its presence on the calendar. We have a handwriting hoorah on this day because it also happens to be John Hancock's birthday. Not that anyone in the L.W.A. needs an excuse to write a letter, but if you're more of a typing or printing person, maybe dust off those penmanship skills for a change of pace.
If you're looking for some handwriting inspiration, check out International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers and Teachers of Handwriting. It is the best resource for handwriting that I have found on the Internet. Make some printouts of their old booklets and get yourself some tracing paper. I think you'll be amazed what a little "cheating" and some practice can do for your script. There's also the Campaign for Cursive and the Society for Italic Handwriting if you find yourself hungry for more handwritten fun. Found a great site for handwriting we should know about? Share your own tips and tricks in the comments.
I have been practicing cursive recently using a dry erase book I got at Staples maybe 10 years ago. It is fun and relaxing!

This stellar presentation by the youngest ever Master Penman, Jake Weidmann, is educational re: the profound benefits of practicing handwriting for developing several kinds of literacy; *very* entertaining at the same time ("The Pen... the needle on the richter scale of our hearts...": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85bqT904VWA
((How many Inklings for giving a TED Talk on handwriting???))

Cursive Logic can benefit everyone's home & mind - when *used*, even if you think you already know - and especially everywhere children (who are educated in public schools or elsewhere) abide: http://www.cursivelogic.com
