Here's the news from over at our sister activism site: Stamp Out Hate. This month’s action was going to be support for the Trans members of our military given the disparaging statement by the President via Twitter. However, I was pokey about posting and the tragedy in Charlottesville has revealed a clear and present need for support to the following persons/organizations working against white supremacy. They need our help. They need our support.
Life After Hate, 917 W. Washington Blvd. Suite 212, Chicago, IL, 60607
Southern Poverty Law Center, 400 Washington Ave., Montgomery, AL, 36104
Albemarle-Charlottesville NAACP, P.O. Box 1522, Charlottesville, VA. 22902
Stop Hate Project, c/o Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, 1401 New York Avenue, NW, Suite 400, Washington, D.C. 20005
Additionally, I encourage you to write notes of thanks to any of your legislators who have spoken out condemning this hate crime. If your representative hasn’t made such a statement, send them a letter asking why. If they made a statement, but it wasn’t nearly good enough, they should be told that as well. Silence is violence.
This month's event is a party! A night of Songs, Laughter, and Love at Read/Write Library. Music by Darren Hanlon! Comedy by Taco Takeover! Write a Stamp Out Hate postcard!
Suggested donation of $5 – $10
Join together to enjoy the company of friends and friendly persons in a spirit of good times and jolliness. My good friend Leigh is helping throw this shindig and she’s your cheerleader for the evening. I, sadly, work late on Tuesdays. However, this is not about me! It’s about love. Anyone can have a Stamp Out Hate event. I’d love it if you did!
Tuesday, August 29th, 7pm
Read/Write Library

The donation from July's sales went to the Brooklyn Community Bail Out fund in support for Black August Bail Out. Join us in both financial and postal support, will you?
Thanks for listening. Thanks for writing.
Be kind. Try hard. Send hope.
