When I saw this over at the APS Instagram account, I was reminded that not everyone knows that you can mail live animals through the U.S.P.S. Of course, there are regulations, but it is possible to mail bees, baby chicks, and small alligators among other cold blooded things. I guess ants too, although I don't see them on the U.S.P.S. site. Perhaps the sites I see selling refill ants for your ant farm online are using a different carrier. They should have a dedicated service that delivers only ants and call it Antstagram. (I am not sorry.)
And you shouldn't bee! : )

When I was a little girl, my uncle sent turtles to my sister and I from San Francisco. It was such a wonderful surprise. Their shells had been painted and were so beautiful.

Once when I went to visit a rural PO in Boring, yes Boring, Oregon, I could hear tiny little peep-peep noises coming from behind the counter. The clerk told me that they had received a box of baby chicks and that they'd been there TWO days already!! Some had died. If you mail order chicks, for the love of all things decent, go and pick them up right away!!

When we get chicks in the mail, the post office calls and says we are welcome to leave them there for the afternoon because they enjoy all the little peeps. When we receive honeybees in the mail, they ask us to come get them IMMEDIATELY!
