Maker and letter writer and L.W.A. member extraordinare, Jessica, has a new goodie available for free download on her site. If you've ever wanted a nice way to collate and catalog the various facts and figures about your pen pal, here's your answer: the pen pal survey form. Write_On Downloads

In addition to the lovely downloads available at the official Write_On site, did you know that our fantastic and amazing member, Jessica Jewel, makes cool stickers for you to print out for your letters as well? You didn't? Oh, well, she does and they're awesome and she's awesome. So maybe go get some stickers. And send more mail. And think about how you can be more awesome too. I'm certainly inspired! Thanks Jessica!

Postman's Knock & Katharine Watson Envelope Download

The delightful Lindsey of The Postman's Knock has teamed up with Katharine Watson (who I guarantee you does not remember me from the Renegade Holiday show where I tabled across the room from her in ages past) to give us a present! There's a lovely illustrated envelope template for free download featuring Katharine's handiwork. Lindsey gives a great tutorial on both how to construct the envelope and how to address it with grace. What a nice way to put some Spring into your March letters. Many thanks to them both for sharing! 
 

Year of the Dog

In celebration of Chinese New Year today, the Year of the Dog, I have a new artistamp! It is a free download on the site! You can download it here. Remember, you can use the service provided at Philosateleia to perforate your printed pages, or order pre-perforated paper to print on from the Olathe Poste.  Happy New Year! Lindsey at The Postman's Knock has tons of calligraphy tips, tricks, tools & tutorials. I love her seasonal offerings. This year she has a new holiday calligraphy worksheet for sale and it is definitely worth your while. I especially like her calligraphy medallions and how she employs the pen in new ways. She is so sweet and kind that she also has a sample holiday worksheet for free. What a perfect way to really fancy up those cards. You've still got time. 10th Anniversary Stationery Download

It's been 10 years since Kathy and I started the Letter Writers Alliance. 10 years, over 12,000 members and who knows how many letters. We've got the parties all set, but in case you can't make it to Chicago or Los Angeles, join the party at home! Here's a brand new stationery design based on a stamp collecting catalog from South Africa in the early 1900s. I got the inspiration from a letter sent by my penpal and blog regular, Alan B. Thank you all so much! Write more letters! Remember, the 10th anniversary downloads are available to members only. 10th Anniversary Artistamps

The first member download for the 10th Anniversary goodies is up! I designed these artistamps to adorn your envelopes and stationery with the proper amount of ceremonial fanfare in celebration of a decade of letter writing here at the L.W.A. Thank you all for your contributions to our community and continued efforts in writing more letters. Remember, artistamps are not valid for mailing (unless you're doing hand-delivery or using some sort of alternate reality postal system); so be sure to put regular postage on your letters as well. Also, here's a link to a guide on making stamp-like edges if you don't have pre-perforated paper like I do. You could also use the perforating service at Philosetlian Post.
